14 Jun Young Entrepreneurs Academy Info Night Open to All
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!, pronounced “yay”) is gearing up for its third year of teaching middle and high school students the ropes when it comes to starting and running their very own legal and real businesses.
On Thursday, Sept. Sept 19th , 5:30-6:30 pm, the Young Entrepreneurs Academy will host the first of three Information Nights for students in grades 6-12, their families, and local business leaders to learn about YEA!, a 26-week program that guides middle and high school students through launching and running their own real businesses or social movements! The event will be held at the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber, located at 416 North Ashley Street, Valdosta, GA. Two additional YEA! The program’s early admission deadline is July 21, 2019.
“We are excited about receiving student applications and have increased the class size to 20 students this year. If you know of any middle or high school student who has an idea or hobby that he or she is passionate about, we would love to meet them at our YEA! Info Nights. The program is designed to help students develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors for startup funds, and launch their own, fully formed companies and social movements.
YEA! applications will be made available at the event. Attendees will learn about the structure, curriculum, and student application process for the program, as well as how business leaders can serve as a mentor, guest speaker, field trip host, or investor. Business leaders and interested community members are encouraged to attend. This event is free and open to the public.

“The YEA! program has been a success for our two graduating class of students, and we couldn’t be happier to be offering this program for our third year to our regional students this fall,” said Myrna Ballard, President/CEO of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, which provides the YEA! program to the regional area.
