Southeastern Credit Union Presents the 2019 Business Outlook Breakfast

 

WHAT: The Chamber welcomes top business leaders to hear about the economic outlook for the upcoming year. We are expecting 225 of our top business leaders to attend and hear from Dr. Jeffrey Humphreys, the director of the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business; Dr. Cynthia Tori, Professor of Economics at the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business at Valdosta State University; and Roger Tutterow, Economics, Finance & Quantitative Analysis at Kennesaw State University.

WHO: A panel of economists will provide the economic outlook for the Metro Valdosta area, Georgia, and the nation.

Dr. Tori is a professor of economics at the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business at Val­dosta State University. Dr. Tori is the writer and editor of the South Georgia Business Out­look, a quarterly on-line publication that dis­cusses and forecasts the expected economic conditions for the thirty-two counties that comprise the South Georgia region.

As a member of the Center for Business and Economics Research, Dr. Tori has completed several impact studies and has worked closely with the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce on several proj­ects including the Chamber’s IMPACT 2012 project. Dr. Tori received her B.S. in finance from the University of Florida. After four years of working in the banking industry, she entered graduate school at the University of Kentucky where she received her Ph.D. in Economics.

Dr. Tutterow serves as Director of the Econo­metric Center, an applied research center housed in KSU’s Coles College of Business. In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow has served as a consultant on financial econom­ics and statistical modeling for corporate clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses. He was selected by Georgia Trend magazine as a “notable Georgian” and as one of “Georgia’s Most Influential” by James magazine. A Georgia native, Dr. Tutterow holds a B.S. in Decision Science from Berry College and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia State University

Dr. Humphreys is the Director of the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. The Selig Center is an endowed economic forecasting & market research center. In 2003, the editors of American Demographics selected Dr. Humphreys as a “Demographic Diamond” – one of the 25 market researchers who have made the most significant contribu­tions to the understanding of consumer trends for business leaders over the last 25 years. The Georgia Economic Outlook, which is pre­pared and written by Dr. Humphreys, has twice received the Asso­ciation for University Business and Economic Research’s Award for Excellence in Publications. Dr. Humphreys is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
